Alicia is so depressed by the state of the music industry she can’t listen to the radio without bursting into tears. Alicia claims record labels force meaningless, emotionless and disposable music on the public - and they are killing creativity as a result. She says, “We’re in a certain instant gratification era right now that kills the whole vibe. It murders it because it makes it so accessible and easy. You can find any song anywhere at any time, so why buy it? “Then, also, at the heart of the matter, is the fact that people aren’t motivated to even feel anything anymore. So much music right now is empty, and that’s what we get shoved down our throats every day; emptiness. “If I watch videos or listen to radio for more than an hour, I want to cry.” |

I so agree with her!

Really it’s hard to ear a really meaning full and feeling music in the radio, not just in radios, it’s so depressing people listening to songs that can’t make us feel anything at all.
What’s the point of making music if we don’t captivate people with a music that only says for example:
“And I’m not gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket”
or
“Why don’t you sit down on top of me?
Ayo
I’m tired of using technology
I need you right in front of me
Oh, she wants it(uh uh)
She wants it
Oh, she wants it”
What is that??????
Damn we’re lost, I can’t understand how this can even sell!
Music for me as too be felt, needs to make people feeeeel, the only way that, that is possible, it’s if artist like Alicia Keys, care to pass trough others their problems, their difficulties, their FEELINGS… I can’t believe that we are starting to put aside that kind of music, and starting to bow before, that thing that in nowadays people call hip-hop, or that electronic POP songs, that the only good thing they have is the beat, and even so in most times they DON’T. I understand what AK said.
Like a quote that I found in Alicia’s website:
“Music is the space between the notes.”
Keep it goin’ Miss Keys

i feel what she saying the rap and the nasty music and all that other stuff sucks the music out of the lyrics and it creates emptiness inside us. alicia music and so many others are great they talk about sincere stuff and they are good enough to listin to. the other stuff is whack. and for one am ashamed of what it’s doing to this young society.
