The akfc unsung hero contest is for public recognition of a person who has displayed an extraordinary act of courage or who has made extreme sacrifices for the sake of others.

We want to pay tribute to a person in your community whom you feel qualifies for such an honor. An unsung hero who tries to do something every day to make a difference, but doesn’t get the praise they deserve.

To enter someone (it could even be you!) please describe the experience and how it affected your life in 2 pages or less. Send your submissions either thru the mail to the akfc ny address or through the akfc e:mail address and please be neat if you’re handwriting an entry, we need to read your story!

The person who nominates the winner of the akfc unsung hero contest, along with 1 member of his or her immediate family and the unsung hero will be the guests of honor at an upcoming alicia keys concert date to be announced.

All submissions must be verifiable either through published documents or eyewitness accounts. We would also like a brief description of yourself and your relationship (if any) to your unsung hero.
