Alicia Keys is hoping to become the latest star to re-record her hits for an MTV Unplugged album. Alicia wants to follow in the footsteps of Jay-Z and Lauryn Hill scaling down her big sound to an acoustic level.

She says, “For me, performing is the epitome. I love songwriting, I love getting into the studio, but it’s when you get on that stage, for me, it really translates to the people just how passionate I am about the words that I write. This album is the next thing that we’re working on. It should be just a gem. It will be like a live show.”

As previously reported, Alicia will play piano prodigy Philippa Schuyler in a movie that will be produced by Halle Berry.
