Super Bowl XXXIX is drawing another big-time star, and more than 100 local students will be a part of it all.
Five-time Grammy award winning artist Alicia Keys is scheduled to perform during the Super Bowl pre-game show at Alltel stadium.
Keys will be joined by 140 students from the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind in St. Augustine in a tribute to the late Ray Charles, who attended the school for eight years in the 1930s.
The school’s spokeswoman Jill Storey said Keys will be performing Charles’ signature song, “America the Beautiful,” and the students will sing and sign the song with her. The students are already practicing.
