Bidders dropped thousands of dollars to meet Russell Simmons and Alicia Keys during a benefit eBay auction for Communities in Schools foundation. The 10-day auction saw fans spend as much as $15,099 to spend time with various celebs. One bidder dropped $5,900 to meet-and-greet with Simmons while another spent $4,650 to spend time with Keys. Meanwhile, $5,600 earned a tenacious bidder the opportunity to hang with the legendary R&B singer Patti Labelle. The Communities in Schools foundation is based in Alexandria, VA. The organization aims to help kids stay in school. Communities presently reaches over 2 million kids via 200 affiliates across the country. |
