Alicia and Bono, the front man of U2 have revealed a blossoming friendship together after they teamed up for the Tribeca film festival’s premiere of British-made documentary “we are together”, about the musical aspirations of the children of South Africa’s Agape orphanage.

Alicia said: “we want to be the voice of people who are voiceless at times and I think that’s what connects us,” She also admits that she often looks to Bono for advice. “I love to be called and I love to call him as well - I learn a lot from him,” said Alicia of Bono, who in turn joked that she’s fast becoming Batman to his Robin.

Alicia Keys and U2’s Bono posed together on the red carpet at the New York premiere of We Are Together. Miss Keys and Bono, both humanitarians, came out to support the TriBeCa Film Festival documentary, which chronicles the lives of children in a South African orphanage.

Alicia Keys has been added to the huge line up of huge artists for Live Earth, this year which will take place on July 7th around the world at many different locations from London, New York to Australia, all to raise awareness for global warming.

It should be an amazing event and great to see Alicia performing live once again.

Alicia has spoken out and says that she hates the idea of women starving themselves to achieve the controversial size zero figure. She is annoyed with the size zero culture and thinks women should appreciate what they have. Alicia says, “I think that’s total trash. I think that a woman is so much her curves and her many styles. We come in all packages and we are who we are and I definitely don’t like it when young girls feel like they have to totally starve themselves.”

“I think it’s not attractive either, actually. Definitely not healthy.”

It has been a long time since Alicia has given us anything new music wise, not counting her Unplugged album in 2005, we have to go way back to 2003 for her The Diary of Alicia Keys album.
Alicia has of course not been sitting around doing nothing, she has been working on films such as Smokin’ Aces and The Nanny Diaries to name a few. Having said that, she is defiantly due to release some new material / album soon, Rolling Stone magazine has reported that Alicia was going to seriously start working on her new album in late 2006 and has been working in the studio with Linda Perry, John Mayer, John Legend and others.
